Do you feel like you’re losing strength? But every time you try to do something about it you end up in a viscous cycle of getting injured, running to the physio to get hands on treatment to manage the injury, only to get reinjured again when you return to the exercise a couple of months later? Well if so, then this video is for you!
Unfortunately, most of us are dealing with imbalances and asymmetries in our body that we’re not aware of. When we go to traditional therapists for a diagnosis, they tend to mainly focus on diagnosis the problematic structure and what muscles might be tight or joints might be painful. If a thorough assessment is lacking in terms of gait and posture, we can often miss out on the functional or broader movement diagnosis that is the root of these problems.
To add to this, when we go back into the gym to try and improve our strength, a lot of the exercises that we are doing may actually be compounding these imbalances and asymmetries. This can happen unknowns to us because we may not know that that they are there in the first place.
So if you want to improve your posture, gait, overall functionality, and want to stay away from the physio table, you must look at your training in a different way. There must be evidence that your training or strength training can actually correct imbalances, and the place you go should showcase that they can do that with their clients.
That’s why at Functional Patterns we routinely show real results with our clients and also assess gait and posture as a priority. If you want to get started, reach out to us today and start your journey to a more functional body.
