Who we help

Chronic Low Back Pain

Often low back pain starts with something innocuous and becomes chronic simply because the root cause has never been addressed.

Low back pain is something that most people will experience in their life, with many experiencing more long term chronic symptoms. This type of back pain can last anywhere from a couple of months, to years, depending on the individual and circumstances surrounding its onset.

Often times low back pain can start with something innocuous and become chronic simply because the root cause has never been addressed. We often hear clients explain its progression in this way: “My back used to go once a year for a few days, then it started to happen every few months and take much longer to recover from, now it’s constantly there”.

Unfortunately, this story has become all too common and people generally have no idea how they have ended up in constant pain. They have tried exercises to strengthen their “core”, been to physios or chiropractors but the issue still persists. The reason why is that there is likely an underlying biomechanical issue that has never been addressed.

How we work

We start by finding the cause

We do a postural assessment and gait analysis to get both static and dynamic views of your body, then build an individualised training plan.

  1. 01

    Assess

    Posture, gait and history

Photos from four angles and slow motion video of you walking and running, with a detailed history of your injuries, exercise and day to day routine. Our comprehensive assessment adds a 3D postural scan.

  2. 02

    Correct

    Fundamentals and corrective exercises

Self myofascial release to prime the body, then corrective exercises that teach you what positions your body should be in and give you better body control.

  3. 03

    Integrate

    Dynamic, full body training

Once you have the basics, we load the body more heavily and challenge it with dynamic movements, strength training done in a way that corrects imbalances rather than compounding them.
