What’s commonly missed
Most approaches focus on the painful and symptomatic areas. We prioritize posture and gait, how your body moves and loads as a system.
See how our assessment process works
Pain and recurring injuries aren’t always explained by the area where you feel the symptoms. At Functional Patterns Dublin we assess how your body moves as a whole. We look at posture, gait and movement patterns to identify the underlying issues which may be keeping you stuck.
Many people train regularly, stretch consistently, or seek hands on treatment yet keep running into the same problems. This often happens because the body develops imbalances and asymmetries over time. When these are not identified, training and treatment tend to manage symptoms rather than change the underlying patterns causing the problems.
This short video walks you through how we assess posture and gait, what we look for, and why this approach is different.
This isn’t bad luck, it’s usually an unaddressed movement issue.
Most approaches focus on the painful and symptomatic areas. We prioritize posture and gait, how your body moves and loads as a system.
If you’re exercising on top of asymmetries you don’t know you have, common gym work can reinforce compensations and lead to repeat setbacks. More effort doesn’t fix the wrong strategy. Even if you are getting “stronger” in the gym, this muscle strength is useless unless it’s integrated into the functions your body is designed to execute.
At Functional Patterns Dublin, posture and gait assessment guide everything we do. Training must demonstrate that it improves function, not just short term relief. If you’d like to speak to one of the team before booking, book an intro call below.
